As
the soil and climate are somewhat similar to the Alsace region of
France we have planted the varieties of Bacchus and Reichensteiner grape which
are capable of producing very fruity aromatic wines of a consistently high
quality.
These aromatic grape varieties are hand-picked at
various times to achieve their optimum ripeness. They are then fermented
in cool, stainless steel vats to produce a soft, clean finish with a
fruity aroma. The following wines are available for tasting and
purchase:
Bardfield Medium Dry
A very drinkable lunchtime
wine, first rate with a crab salad or quiche.
Bardfield Sparkling Extra Brut
Our most popular wine, made in the
traditional way to produce a quality sparkling wine with a soft clean
finish and elegant aroma.
Bardfield Bacchus
A wine suggesting fresh ripe fruits
with floral scented tones. This medium wine is best served chilled
with fish, pasta and poultry.
Bardfield Reichensteiner
Carefully matured in oak casks, this
dry wine has a delightful colour and fruity aroma which makes it the ideal
companion to chicken and apple pie.
